Online blackjack: rules & strategy

Blackjack has one of the lowest house edges in the casino when you play it well. The goal: get closer to 21 than the dealer without busting.

Basic rules

An honest note

Basic strategy lowers the house edge but does not guarantee a win. Continuous shuffling / RNG make "card counting" impractical online — focus on playing well and setting limits.

The rules in 30 seconds

Beat the dealer by getting closer to 21 without going over. Cards 2–10 are face value, face cards are 10, and an ace is 1 or 11. You can hit (take a card), stand, double or split pairs. The dealer follows fixed rules, so it's you vs a known system — not other players.

Frequently asked questions

Does blackjack have a low house edge?

Among the lowest when you use basic strategy — but the house keeps an edge.

Can you count cards online?

In practice no — continuous shuffling and RNG cancel it out.

Does card counting work online?

Not against RNG tables (the deck is reshuffled every hand) and it's impractical on live-dealer streams. Use basic strategy instead.

What is the best blackjack bet?

The main hand played with basic strategy. Avoid side bets — their house edge is far higher than the base game.
